It cracks me up that at just shy of age three, Juliet knows exactly what facetime is all about. It's a little refreshing actually. Maybe the next generation has some hope for communication {face to face}. I was worried for a while that unlike my teenage years always on the phone, my kids would be glued to a screen texting their friends. I may change my opinion on this topic when I have two teenage girls in the house. When Juliet does facetime, she almost always immediately wants to know who is all at the house {Nana and Papa's} and wants to see ALL their faces so she can personally say "hi". Then she likes to get a tour of the house {she's usually very quiet during the tour}. I wonder what's going through her mind when she sees the familiar house that she lived in for 6 months while Chris was deployed; I'm sure she does. Last night after her "tour" she had Papa get out his iTouch that she use to play on, and put a game on for her. She told both my parents which buttons to push. How they were able to push them as fast as Miss Bossy Pants could command while making the tiny screen of the iTouch visable to Juliet through our iPad, I'll never know. Haha. Cracks me up. Anyway, they had a good time ...

Finding Our Way Around A New Library
The girls and I ventured to the teenie tiny library in our new town of Warrensburg for story time with some friends this morning. This library is quaint to say the least, but they had an awesome kids room equipped with ridiculously over sized stuffed animals, a play house, a puzzle table and oh yea, books.
Our lovely story time dates included, Miss Catherine {or as Juliet says, baby tate} ...
... and sweet Miss Abby. Thank you girls for braving the unknown with us this morning.

Mobile Monday
Maybe I should just start naming this "mobile tuesday" since I can't ever seem to get it up on Mondays. Well, here it is ... a day late. Our past week in instagrams.

Playground Next Door
The girls have been taking serious advantage of living right next door to a playground while temporarily on base. Violet is able to get down and explore since it is bark {aka, snack} free. This little girl is growing up way too fast. She follows Juliet everywhere ... even if it means up the stairs. She saw Juliet go down the slide, so she crawled over there and tried her best to crawl up to meet her big sister at the top. Juliet let her know, "that's not the way we do the slide sister!".

Sesame Street Live
Although I was a bit {ok, very} apprehensive about going to this show, I admit I did have a good time. I was not prepared to have both girls with me, but such is the life of the military and not knowing flight schedules until last minute. The girls were great, and it was exceptionally easy to have both of them. I'm proud to have such good kids sometimes. Especially in public.
Juliet was just as afraid of everything as I knew she'd be. Her hands were either in her mouth or clinging to mine most of the time ...

But like always, once she warmed up and was presented with a gift {in this case a flashing Elmo star glow light thingy that almost gave me a heart attack on the drive home} she had the grandest of times. She danced to the music and told me when the lights came back on that "this was a great time Mom". Thank you Lorrie, Wyatt and Chris for braving the crowds with us. Juliet was right, it really was a good time.
Favorite Park
Some photos {additions to those seen on todays project 365 } from our favorite park; Brownlee. Juliet is all about her independence at this park {it's really nice to see that side of her} and so is Violet {this is the only side I know of her}. While Juliet is going down slides left and right, Violet is taste testing the sand and crawling everywhere big sissy goes. At one point she even attempted some steps just to see where Juliet was going off to. Today was a muggy 84 degrees, so we piled on the sunscreen and played in the overcast for possibly the last time at this park. It's unreal to think we only have a week and a half here in Louisiana.
Another thing that added Brownlee to the top of my favorite park list, was when Juliet looked up at me and said, "ok, it's time to go home now" and then went and put on her own shoes. This never happens. No meltdown? I'll take it! I'm telling you, this park is special.

8 Month Stats
Finally got Violet to the pediatrician the other day for her 6 month check up ... except she was four days shy of 8 months. Eh, life got busy and she's wasn't sick {until yesterday} so there was never really a reason to take her, AND oh yes I forgot. I guess I shouldn't leave that part out. The doctor said she was in the 60th percentile for height and weight among those her age and in the 80th percentile for head {she reassured me that was all brain and fabulous hair}. Her doctor was happy to know Violet's a classified piggy and is sleeping through the night. Here are Violet's stats at "almost" 8 months:
-18 pounds and growing
-27 inches tall
-crawling everywhere
-pulling up on her knees and feet
-fearless {crawled off the step onto the balcony the other day}
-follows big sister everywhere
-favorite singer, Miss Etta James ... she's moved on from Amy Winehouse
-7:30pm bedtime
-6:30-7:30am wake up time {without interruption}
-eats anything and everything ... no picky eater this time around
-able to pick up food with her fingers and has moved from puree to chunks of "real" food now {and yes, this has at times included smiley fries}
-is very, very Mommy dependant {meaning, she will literally cry if I leave the room; this is not an exaggeration}
-downs about 4 bottles a day {4-6 ozs at a time}
-favorite times of day are bathtime and bedtime
-thinks her sister is the bees knees ... which she totally is
Some photos I got with my phone while at the pediatrician ... where believe it or not, Violet showed her first signs of being a shy girl. Grr.

Had To Share
Juliet was too busy shielding herself from the water sprays to enjoy the waterfall at the boardwalk. Such a girl. While I captured the moment from my view, my girlfriend captured the moment from her view. Thanks Lorrie; too cute.
