Pumpkin Cookies

Making cookies with Juliet.  Rolling the dough with her alligator pin ....

Putting her new cookie cutters to use ...

Ready to go in the oven ...

Frosting with her worm spatula and adding some sprinkles ...

And finally the best part, enjoy!

Signature "Sassy" Walk

Juliet showing Daddy her Sassy Walk ... looks more like me at 8 months pregnant!  Haha.

Reflection

Walked through almost a half mile of goose poop to get a shot of this gorgeous reflection.  Aunt Peggy has the most beautiful yard (even with the Geese), especially in the fall.

Sharing The Spot Light

For possibly the first time in her life, Juliet isn't in the spot light in this photo; her baby sister is.  I don't think she's ever been in the background of a shot; she's always front and center.

BUT with that being said, I don't think she minds sharing ...

... at all.

Shy Pumpkin

Under most circumstances Juliet doesn't lack in the outgoing department, but when she is out of her element, she is one shy little pumpkin.  We saw the head-buried-in-hands move a couple of times at the pumpkin patch today.  She was so interested in the different posters around the patch that you could stick your head in for a picture.  She waited in line, even telling me "it not my turn yet Mommy".  Once she got up there and Nana was ready to snap a picture, what did she do?  Her signature move; poor kid.

Thankfully after some time exploring she FINALLY let go of my hand and walked far enough away where I could take her picture (silly me; I only brought my zoom lens thinking she would be running around like a maniac).

She couldn't get enough of the roasted corn but stopped eating it dead in her tracks as soon as a stranger told her how cute her hat was; hello meltdown number two.

As it seems to be a regular thing these days, she started to loosen up and enjoying herself just as it was time to leave (Violet was SO over the whole pumpkin patch thing).

Let's hope my little shy pumpkin is just going through a phase, but this unfortunately is the sassy little expression I'm getting very used to seeing and photographing.

Baths Are For Babies

Juliet has decided the bathtub is for babies; SHE is a big girl.  The shower is so much more fun.  You get to wash your own hair and there is plenty of room to dance under the "waterfall".

Assistant

Juliet has taken up the position of my assistant.  Nothing like trying to keep the camera still when photographing Violet's belly time with a little monkey either on my back or in the frame.

One Hundred Twenty Minutes With Daddy

Miss Violet got to hang out with her Daddy this morning during his layover in Seattle mid-deployement.  We were so lucky to have the time we did with him, but saying goodbye is starting to really suck.  At least he got to spend a couple precious hours with his baby girl; she was just two weeks old last time he saw her.

Under The Weather

It has always amazed me how children can get sick and you know they have to feel so crummy, yet they're still smiling and happy as ever.  Juliet has gotten to the age where she is showing more that she's feeling terrible; she just isn't her spunky self.  But Violet is still so sweet.  She was so happy this morning even though her face was completely flushed and she was running a fever, not to mention dripping from the nose.  They are so helpless when they're sick; breaks my heart.  Luckily after three days of fighting this bug, the girls seemed to be feeling ok tonight.  Violet was worlds better and she seemed happy to be in front of the camera again.

Someone's Getting Stronger

Little girl; getting stronger and stronger everyday!

Goodbye Size Three Month

She's growing out of her clothes way too fast; these are 6 month pants.  She wore then for the first time today, and they weren't even big; sad.

Juliet insisted on standing on the table to get her picture taken too ... so for visual effect, these are 12 month pants :)

The Dreaded Cold Season

Thank you Costco for selling giant sized, double packs of Boogie Wipes.  Hopefully this will be enough to get us through cold season.  Well, that and these ingenious thermometer/medicine dispencer pacifiers ... or as Juliet calls them, "beats".  What will they come up with next?

Fall Is Here

Three gorgeous colors all sharing the same tree.  Amazes me; absolutely beautiful.  I love this time of year.

Tummy Time Stinks

Tummy time isn't always fun, but it's a must.  Violet is getting so much better, but it doesn't take long for her frustrations to take over and get the best of her.  I still find it impossible to make her go the whole 15 minutes the doctor ordered.  How can I say no to a face like this?  She's just begging me to flip her back over!

Lamb Chop

Does anyone remember Lamb Chop?  Grandma Conant had a little Lamb Chop puppet tucked away for Juliet and when I saw it, I couldn't help but run the song "this is the song that never ends, yes it goes on and on my friend" over and over in my head.  Juliet has yet to see the show herself but was tickled pink when her Grandma put on a VIP puppet show for her.

No Nap

Today was busy and didn't leave much time for a nap.  I blame Target along with my lack of planning.  By the time dinner was ready, I found Juliet and her half eaten cracker passed out in Nana's chair.  It's a good thing we skipped pajama story time (originally because the weather was so terrible) because her 45 minute cat nap turned my sweet Juliet into a complete monster.  She was moody the second she woke up and cried for almost 20 minutes when it was eventually time for bed.  Lesson learned; no skipping naps!  Especially for Target ... whatever it is, it can wait.
