Tummy Time

Violet tried "tummy time" for the first time today and did surprisingly well ...

That was at least until she realized her arm was stuck beneath her ...

Luckily, that's when big sissy came to help her out ...

We decided to flip her back over so she could really get a look at the hanging toys on her playmat ...

AND of course get a better look at that big sister of hers!

Lovin' On Nana

Nana has helped our family out SO much this past year it's been amazing. Juliet has grown so close to her and will be heartbroken to let her go at the end of the week ... BUT for now, she's still enjoying every minute.

Love you MOM/NANA!

7 Days New

I can't believe Violet is already a week old ... why do they HAVE to get older?

Mommy's Little Helper

It's so sweet to witness Juliet slowly warm up to her baby sister. Her new saying is "I'm a big sister now!" ... it's beyond adorable. Today she was Mommy's little helper. She helped me change Violet and keep her entertained while in her bouncer (Juliet was in charge of the music). Such a good big sister!

Mood Swings

Ahh the mood swings of a 6 day old ...

At least they never last long!

Well, Hello Belly Button!

Violet's sweet little belly button made it's appearance today ...
She wasn't too thrilled about holding still to get her picture taken but I have to say her sassy face is just as cute as her sweet face.

Beauty Shots

I'd say three days is just about right for your first beauty shots, don't you? Little bright eyes wasn't too excited about getting naked and posing, but she was a very good sport. She's got no idea what's coming!

Swinging The Days Away

Someone loves their swing ... time to stock up on D batteries!

Shut The Front Door ... She's STAYING?!?

Sister She's Been Waiting For

Juliet woke up from her nap on Wednesday to find a little sweet someone whom she now has to share EVERYTHING with. She was super shy at first, but it didn't take her long to warm up to her baby sister "Bydit" as she calls her.

Delivery Day

After a long pregnancy full of trials including 14 weeks of strict bedrest and plenty of worries, we feel SO blessed and fortunate to welcome to the world our little angel Violet Elizabeth Conant. Born at 9:01am on July 12th at 38 weeks, 6 days gestation. She weighed in at 7lbs, 2ozs and measured at 20 inches long ... she's got lots of hair and the personality to match it ...

Dr. Blanton who took SUCH good care of me and what he calls his "miracle baby" ...

Meeting my sweetie for the first time ...

Meeting Daddy ...

Thank you so much to everyone who supported and prayed for us throughout this pregnancy, to everyone who traveled to help us care for Juliet when I was unable to and of COURSE to everyone who cooked, cleaned, brought gifts and visited me in the hospital, played "taxi driver" and especially to all of those who had the pleasure of changing a Juliet diaper special. Because of all of you we now have a gorgeous full term healthy baby girl. She was SO healthy and happy in fact that they let us go home after just 24 hours in the hospital ...
