Playdate

After a chaotic lunch date with a friend and her little girl, Mila (let’s just say we were thankful in the end that we settled on Mexican; the festive music was just loud enough to drown out the sound of our energetic children) we decided to let the girls run off some of some steam at the train play area in the mall. Holy cow Juliet is shy. Mila had a blast (even with getting plowed over a few times by the bigger kids) but Juliet wouldn’t leave my side for the longest time. When she finally got up the courage to join the other monkeys on the train, she got nailed by some kid running by. Once she calmed down, we decided to hit the road.  That's when Juliet decided she wasn’t done yet. SO we said our goodbyes to Mila and off came the shoes once more.  Almost TWO HOURS later I finally was able to convinced her to go … but not without a fight. At that point I had to pee so bad, she didn’t have a choice. So needless to say, after lugging an upset toddler and a 60lb carseat (give or take a pound) all the way to the truck in the rain while desperately trying to keep a blanket over Violet so she didn’t get drenched, I am exhausted. Oh, the joys of having two little ones. Sometimes you just can help but laugh at yourself. Oh, and as it turns out, my super cute little brown flats are not waterproof; at all.
Even with all the crazy, it was fun and SO good to see my old friend and meet her little one. When was it that we all grew up and had kids of our own? Time sure does fly.
