Mixed Nuts
At the risk of sounding too corny, Juliet is nuts about nuts. She paid close attention tonight on her lesson of "how to crack nuts ... and EAT them up". She was so excited. Before cracking them open, she had to state their names and put each one up to her ear and listen the baby nut shake inside. Then, once cracked, she gobble them up. One right after another.

Floating Tea Set

Boardwalk
Why is it that I feel so accomplished as a mother after successfully taking both girls somewhere by myself and finishing the day without a single meltdown, a well rested baby and a happy toddler? I guess because it unfortunately doesn't happen very often. The beach must just be the place for us; you haven't seen the last of us.
Lesson Learned
The next time Juliet says she doesn't want to wear a pair of shoes, I'll listen. I found these adorable black mary-janes unopened in my room the other day. They looked plenty big to me and since I have a hard time getting Juliet to wear any shoes, I didn't even think twice about slapping them on her feet while she was saying "I don't lite (like) it". Well karma hit when I had to carry twenty four pounds of grumpy half way home from the park because her feet hurt; turns out they fit too well and didn't leave much toe wiggling room. Hey, I got a picture out of it thanks to my Mom though!

Redondo Playground
The girls and I spent yesterday morning at the Redondo beach playground. I guess we showed up at the perfect time because we were the only ones there; a plus when it comes to Juliet's new shy demeanor. It's slowly starting to get chilly out, so my diaper bag is getting heavier and heavier ... full of hats, tiny gloves and extra socks for all that puddle jumping.
